  • ZELENI TALAS For a Greener Living

Nomad Life Home partners with recycling organization Zeleni Talas to promote sustainable living. Nomad Life Home is proud to announce a new collaboration with a leading sustainability and recycling organization. This partnership strengthens our commitment to promoting an environmentally conscious lifestyle by encouraging responsible waste management and rewarding our community for taking action. As part of this initiative, customers who bring their plastic waste for recycling will receive exclusive discounts on Nomad Life Home’s range of sustainable, thoughtfully designed products. By combining responsible recycling practices with affordable incentives, we aim to reduce plastic waste and inspire more people to make Eco-friendly choices in their everyday lives. This collaboration highlights Nomad Life Home’s commitment to building a future where sustainability, comfort and a modern lifestyle go hand in hand. How Zeleni Talas is changing habits and cities Zeleni Talas is an initiative that was launched with the desire to make recycling in Montenegro simple, motivating and accessible to everyone. The idea of the program is to enable every citizen to win prizes through packaging recycling, and at the same time contribute to the community and environmental protection. The central tool of this project is the Zeleni bod application, a digital guide through recycling. Through it, citizens receive points for each recycled packaging that they can exchange for discounts, vouchers, products or services of partners. The application is available on all platforms, Google Play, App Store and Huawei AppGallery and gathers an increasing number of users every day. Results so far... The Green Wave has so far implemented a series of actions throughout Montenegro, from Cetinje to Tivat and Podgorica. Last year's action "Separate, recycle, win" showed how much citizens want to be part of positive changes, more than 10,000 people got involved in five cities around Montenegro, and over 300,000 pieces of packaging were collected together. These results are the best proof that with a good system and motivation, citizens readily accept sustainable habits and contribute to environmental protection. In addition to actions, the project has built a network of partners, companies, institutions and organizations that recognize the importance of recycling. They provide rewards and discounts for the app's users, thus bridging the gap between sustainability and everyday life. The green wave confirms that sustainable waste management is possible when there is a clear vision and joint work. By connecting citizens, institutions and partners, a model was created that makes recycling accessible and useful for everyone. In the coming period, the priority will be the further development and improvement of this system, in order to ensure a permanent contribution to the protection of the environment and the quality of life of the community.

  • TEXTURED ART WORKSHOP

Our first Textured Art was a success ! After a year of overthinking we did it ! First class of textured happened today Oct 26 where friends and members of Nomad Life joined for 2 hours in this new experience. Feedbacks was welcomed and test was made to perfect our next upcoming classes. One of our participant Feedback : Taking a texture art class was an eye-opening and creative journey that allowed me to see art from a whole new perspective. Texture art is all about the surface quality of a piece—how it feels or appears to feel—and learning how to use texture added depth, personality, and emotion to my artwork. In class, we explored various materials such as sand, fabric, modeling paste. We learned how to layer, carve, and press materials into surfaces to create both visual and tactile textures. One of the most exciting parts was experimenting with mixed media and seeing how different textures interacted with paint and light. The benefits of this class went beyond just art techniques. It helped improve my creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Texture art also encourages mindfulness—getting lost in the process of building layers and feeling the materials can be very calming and therapeutic. My experience overall was both fun and educational. It challenged me to look at the world differently, noticing textures in everyday life that I once overlooked. ⸻ Find our Texture Art Therapy Kit to try and diy at home with family or simpl trying a New hobby.

  • 5 Must Favorite Natural Materials for your Home

LINEN Linen is #1 must and one of our favorite fabric. It is one of the only fabrics that get better with age. Made from flax it is one of the oldest used materials in the world. For adding warmth, comfort, and softness to a house you won’t find a better fabric, than linen, it is also stronger than cotton. It lends itself well to dying and is a beautiful way of bringing soft natural colors into your home. As curtains, it lets light in beautifully. As cushion covers and bedding , it holds warmth and is super soft. Neutral color Linen brings sort of luxury, airy and comfort to your lifestyle, that let go everything is OK look that you don't need to iron to make it look perfect kinda way! Just the way we like it. TERRACOTTA Terracotta is one of my favorite materials. It is un-glazed pottery which is left raw. Most terracotta is the earthy ochre color that we all know but it can be white or any color you want. A versatile material it is beautifully used as a floor tile, mugs, plates, vases, decor accessories where the richness of the color can be seen in a large expanse. Most people will know the material through plant pots but it looks great as an interior material where it added richness and texture. WOOD Anything of wood adds a feeling of warmth and tactility to interiors. The fact that it is used in places where tactility is important such as flooring and cabinets shows how much people value it as a material. I love the natural patina that wood develops over time. I’m a huge fan of vintage timber that is full of marks and history. Different color wood is OK to use in your interiors don't be scared there is never too much wood ! COTTON We can never say no to 100% cotton ! This fabric is the most profitable fiber crop in the world. It is a material that brings with it a weight of history unlike no other. Cotton is a material that is incredibly easy to work with and manipulate. What is also the best combination is when it is mixed with Linen . I love the versatility of the material you can find it in rope, rugs, towels, cushions, sheets etc. Softness is 100% Guaranteed. It holds on to warmth and allows air in to keep things cool, it can be dyed and washed well-meaning it is the perfect product for home textiles. WOVEN Woven products add a delicateness to interior products. They are normally woven from natural materials such as bamboo, jute, seagrass and palm leaves. The nice thing about woven natural furniture is that it develops its own patina over time. Basketry is a staple of many communities all over the world. Materials used in basketry can be dyed which makes them really versatile. Check out our collection of rattan and macrame and discover the endless possibilities with woven materials.

  • TRAVEL TO TUNISIA | GUIDELINES

Our trip to Tunisia was so far the most excentric experience as we went there to share a special day with our dearest friends we have come with a Guidelines from our experience in this coutry for 4 nights and 5 days. Don’t get me wrong It is a beautiful country, it reminds you of Greece as all the house are painted in white and have blue doors and windows and with so many beautiful Roman Empire site seeing but if you dont know how to get around it can become very overwelming and the people not very welcome as English is not a spoken languange amongst the locals but if you speak French it might be easier to move around. Also you have to keep an open mind. Here are some guidelines for your upcoming trip with some added from my experience. PASSPORT / VISA First of all you must verify and double check your passport validity to the country if you require Visa or not even if you don’t require visa if your doing transit to get there double check their rules and passport visa guidelines before adventuring as from our experience we needed a Transit Visa to go trough Germany leaving the country when we arrive from the same route to the country. So be aware and i keep in mind this we have seen people arriving and being deported the same day that don’t require Visa to enter the country. I 1 - CURENCY: Upon your arrival at the airport, please feel free to change between 100-150 ($ & €) to have some cash at hand. The rule of thumb for the exchange rate is 3 dinars for dollars and 3.3 dinars for euros when we arrived in September 2024. This will closely fluctuate between each exchange office give-or-take. 2 - You can continue exchanging money using exchange offices in the city or ATMs directly with your credit card as you go throughout your trip. Please note that Tunisia has a strict foreign monetary policy, hence if you have dinars that you need to exchange back to euros or dollars you as you cannot convert the local currency to the foreign currency anywhere in Tunisia. 3 - HOSPITALITY: For tipping: 10-20 dinars is very generous at restaurants/hotels. For blue collar workers (at the airport or supermarkets) 5 dinars is more than enough. Tipping is expecting anywhere anytime. Clubbing TİP, Restaurant TIP, Taxi Tip. It makes everyone happy and seeing you as a tourist they expect it from you cause they are feeling obliged to be nice to you but they are not completely genuine and coming from the heart. Hotels : we’ve stayed in the most luxurious 5 stars hotel when we were there The Movenpick and let me tell you didn’t deserve a 5 stars cause our shower and sink drain was blocked all the time, there were flies in the room , the ones coming from the drain. So if you can get a nice Airbnb with a stunning views for the same price, you can visit the hotels in the morning for Breakfast. 4 - TRANSPORT : Download the Bolt app (Uber alternative) if you plan on moving around in the city & plan on visiting the Medina. Cash payments are the only method of payment for Bolt. Bolt is very convenient please have internet with you from the Airport if you don’t have Bolt if you try to get other Taxis on the go they will try to get as much from you. So we recommend Bolt as it is the way the local go around. Please keep in mind that they are not the most good looking cab, they have no AC, no clean seat and sometimes if its raining water drip from the roof. But hey what an experience! Drivers don’t speak nothing of English and as i say before if you speak French its much easier. 5 - Have a credit card with you for restaurant/hotel payments. The Dutch "iDeal" or american debit cards don't really work with the financial system in Tunisia (Amex not recommended). 6 - ALCOHOL Last note regarding alcohol. Tunisia is predominately a Muslim country, which means that alcohol is not readily available at every location. All hotels & *touristic* restaurants offer a wide variety of alcohol. Must cafes offers cocktails they are extraordinarily natural fruit juices without alcohol. Some touristic and iconic places to dine are Casa Medina in Tunis, Dar el Jeld in Medina Alcohol can also easily be purchased at supermarkets during a fixed window of 8 am till 8 pm (to the best of my knowledge). Supermarkets such as Carrefour or Monoprix are where you can purchase all types of alcohol. *On Fridays, these sections at the supermarkets are closed (considered as the Christian Sunday).* 7- SITE SEING : Make sure you visit Sidi Bou Said ; it is on a mountaintop where the Bolt can take you and drop your off at the very top and you can continue by foot to visit the streets. Carthage is a residential neighborhood with Roman Ruines to visit all site you can get a pass for day to visit all 6 locations for only 12 Dinars, they are extremely tiring so go prepared with shorts, water and hats, not so much tourist though. Visit La Medina city center .. on a late afternoon The desert on cold times not on Summer they are tours to sleep and camp in the desert. Trains are not the most updated they break while traveling and they fix them on the go. Sidi Bou Said Carthage Antonin Bath La Medina We recommend that if your an hygienist extreme do not visit Tunisia. It is overwhelming and everything you will do and experience will not be satisfying. But if you have an open mind and embrace the experience get ready to get shout out, treat very badly by the locals, but ready to make the best of it. Please note this is our experience, we had a great time with our friends but if you have local friends living there its best to have recommendations from them. We found the Country very complicated and the people not aware that you are visiting and that your helping their economy. It is not a place we are excited to go back and probably will never go back, we checked it from our Bucket list.

  • 20 MOST POPULAR HANDMADE HOME DECOR ITEMS

When it comes to decorating you feel youve out of options or dont know where to start and what you need for your space. We have come with a list of most popular home decor items that can do the work without going out of the way or break the bank ! 1.WALL ARTS Either prints, paitings on canvas or simply textured art, a wall art is a most in a wall an empty wall feels no soul to your interiors. 2. TABLE LAMPS We cannot just rely on ceiling lights to illuminate our homes. Sometimes we forget the importance of lighting. Table and floor lamps cast softer light and reduce harsh shadows in our home — and they can be a decor piece in their own right! You Can handmade you lamp abajour with fabric or Jute rope 3. CUSHIONS If you ask me, there’s no better way to get bang for buck than simply switching over your cushions. They’re a great way to introduce a new colour palette into a room or add more texture. My hot tip, switch the regular foam cushion inserts over to down inserts for a more luxe look and added comfort! 4. CANDLES & CANDLESTICKS You know how obsessed we are with candles so this one was definitely going to be on the list! Candles add ambience to a home in a way few other decor pieces can because it works on our sense of smell. Look for ones made from soy wax and natural fragrances to avoid bringing toxins into your home. Candle sticks or candle holders look great on your dining table. You can also work them into a vignette on a sideboard for that tall element 5.RUGS Rugs serve so many uses in a home — they define zones, add warmth and can soften hard flooring. And when you have child in your home they become the center of play time. And when you use one with a bold colour or pattern, they can be like art for a room. Cotton and Handmade rugs add a special and personal touch to your home. 6. VASES Glass or ceramic, metal or concrete, there is no limit if what you like ! Depending on the size and style of your vase , these can look fabulous as a stand alone item (such as an oversized vase filled with dried branches on a sideboard) or work into a styled arrangement beautifully. 7. BOOKS Add that homely feel and display your personal interests with books. These look great in a bookshelf (obviously!), on a coffee table, bedside table and just about any other surface area you can think of. 8. MIRRORS Who can live witout one ? Bounce light around or create the illusion of a larger space with a strategically placed mirror. Or install one on too of a console table, at the entrance for a last look before going out of the house 9. I NDOOR PLANTS You can never have too many indoor plants. Fact. And there’s never been a better range of stylish vessels to indoor plants! 10. PHOTO FRAMES Framing photos or printing them onto canvas adds personality to your home and is a way of putting your happiest memories on display. But there’s an art to doing it without going overboard. 11. BOOKENDS It’s been a while since bookends have had their moment in the decor limelight and we want to do our part to shine a spotlight back on them! Forget traditional L shaped bookends that only serve a functional purpose when you can find some that are truly gorgeous decor pieces. 12. BASKETS We’ve never met a basket we didn’t like! Big or small, in a natural weave or colour, these are fabulous at keeping smaller items organised. In the pantry, baskets are great for keeping packet food items together and in play rooms there’s no better way to organise kids toys. We use baskets in booksef styling, in bathrooms and just about every corner of the home. Get your hands on some! 13. WOOD OR OBJECT DECOR A garland of timber beads or a wooden sculpture on the coffee table of a coastal style living room, a timber hand in a Scandi-style space, a timber sphere in a contemporary bookshelf, or a piece of drift wood turned into a beautiful timber sculpture, there’s no shortage of ways you can incorporate timber decor into your home. Timber is a natural material that adds a sense of connection to nature. It is also a great way of mixing up the type of materials you use. 14. TRAYS A catch-all tray in the entry of a home is a styling essential we think everyone should have. Trays can serve many other styling uses though — some just for looks (like as a tray on your coffee table to anchor your arrangement) and as a practical tool (such as near your coffee station). 15. CANISTERS & DECORATIVE BOX You know how much we love using smaller boxes, baskets and storage solutions to hide away items. Canisters are an often-forgotten one. You can find beautiful organic canisters made my ceramic artists or something more modern. Whatever style you prefer, these are a great item to have when styling. Place it on a bedside table to keep jewellery safe, in your office to store smaller stationery or in a kitchen vignette for rock salts or sugar. 16. FLORALS Dry or aline flowers are trending in a big way. Featuring dried or preserved blooms, grasses, stems, berries and seed pods, they’re a stunning — and long lasting — way to bring texture and beauty into your home. 17. MACRAME We know people went a bit macrame crazy a few years ago. In moderation, we still love a macrame wall hanging or hanging pot. Macrame particularly suits boho and eclectic style interiors but also looks fab in a coastal home. 18. DECORATIVE BOWL OR PLATE Small decorative bowls are perfect for holding jewellery on your bedside table or acting as a salt pinch dish on your dining table, while larger bowls look beautiful in a cabinet or sideboard. You can also find stunning decorative plates that can be stood upright with a plate stand. 19. CERAMIC VESSELS We have a serious obsession with ceramic pieces and who can blame us?! In brightly glazed or unglazed natural clay, there’s something so special about the handmade beauty of ceramics. Find a functional piece, such as a candle holder or bowl, or you could simply pick up a sculpture for arts sake. 20. WICK TRIMMER OR CANDLE SNUFFER If you’re creating a styled arrangement with a candle, a nice low element to use is a wick trimmer or candle snuffer. There are many styles and different finishes so look for one to tie into your theme. That’s it 20 Decor items now go decorate that special corner or space, if you want some advice don’t hesitate to contact us ! • WHAT IS WABI SABI ?

My definition is very simple embrace the imperfections of things. In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi could be described as finding beauty in things that are imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. This concept is derived from Buddhist teachings. It describes a life of simplicity, modesty, intimacy, and appreciation of nature’s ingenuity. Wabi-sabi aesthetic is best represented in the Japanese tea ceremonies. Wabi means simplicity, humility and living in tune with nature. It describes someone who is content with little and makes the most of whatever he or she has while always moving towards having less. Sabi, on the other hand, refers to what happens with the passage of time. It is about transience beauty and authenticity of age. Practicing wabi is learning to accept the natural cycle of growth and decay, life and death, as well as embracing the imperfections that comes with it "Wabi-sabi nurtures all that is authentic by acknowledging three simple realities: nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect." In a way, wabi-sabi is a material representation of Buddhism. As such, it can be applied in all life spheres, to help you become more mindful and aware of the present moment. Being surrounded by objects that are changing with time helps us stay grounded. And if we notice some cracks, we’re just reminded of impermanence. And if we noticed imperfections we're just reminded that we are human and not perfect. Objects and environments that embody wabi-sabi - Authentic colours. Selecting a colour palette is a key element of interior design, regardless of what type of space you're renovating or improving. - Asymmetry and Imbalance. - Natural Materials. - Organic Shapes. - Handmade Furniture and Accessories. - Reclaimed, Repaired and Recycled Décor Wabi-sabi as a way of life We need wabi-sabi in our homes and lives now more than ever because we are oversaturated with glossy images of ‘perfection’ and the drive to achieve more to get more. There is far too much in the media to compare ourselves to get us to do more and more of the same thing. A wabi-sabi viewpoint, on the other hand, pushes these ideals aside and urges us to appreciate a different kind of ideal, such as people, places, and things with humility and simplicity and therefore things unique and handmade things that takes times to do and with a story to tell. The wabi sabi lifestyle You can cultivate a wabi sabi lifestyle by trying the following. Declutter your living space and keep the things you need stored away when you’re not using them. This will help convey a sense of tranquility in your surroundings, which will support a serene state of mind. Choose used items made from natural materials over newly manufactured synthetic products when possible. This will foster a sense of connection to nature and the earth. Learn to appreciate the elegant simplicity of a “less is more” lifestyle, such as a single branch and stem in a worn ceramic pot rather than a large bouquet of flowers in a perfectly symmetrical vase. Slow down the pace of your life when possible and leave plenty of time for rest between tasks. Prevent overwhelm by refusing to glorify the busyness that can lead to chronic stress and poor mental health. Practice mindful savoring when eating and drinking. The mindful movements of the Japanese tea ceremony should nourish the spirit as well as the body. Take time to contemplate the web of interconnectedness that has furnished your plate, from the interdependence of the natural elements required to grow food, to the relationships between the farmers and retailers who have provided the ingredients for your meal. Learn to appreciate the signs of the passage of time and the beauty of aging in yourself and others. A wabi sabi lifestyle prizes maturity, depth, and wisdom over the vitality of youth. 10 steps for achieving a wabi-sabi style in your decor Examples of Wabi Sabi Dried flowers or branches Cracked or chipped pottery Aged or faded wood Wrinkled linen napkins One of a kind art pieces Belongings that reflect the personality of the individual Handmade decor Natural materials and fabrics Drappled light falling on a bed Cozy and intimate spaces Worn leather bag or much loved scuffed shoes Flea market collections Rough or uneven stone walls Examples of things that are not wabi sabi Solid steel fences Synthetic bedding Perfectly ironed clothes Mass-marketed reproductions Strong and harsh light Bold, bright and glossy textures Giant warehouse discount stores Sleek and industrial design Shiny new thing Even if you’re not Japanese or Buddhist, you can still enjoy the beauty and serenity of a wabi-sabi lifestyle. After all, imperfection and impermanence describe the very nature of our existence. Embracing them as friends will lead to a happier life. Keep in mind that wabi-sabi goes beyond a certain kind of aesthetic. It is a way of life and thought process. One that teaches us to find joy in the simple things and being thoughtful and intentional in all that we do, say and think. The art of imperfection and freedom of form : Life happens. We encounter realities despite the fact that we pursue the mystical perfect life. Perfection is the belief that if we live perfect, look perfect and act perfect, we can minimize or avoid the pain of blame, judgement and shame. Brené Brown.
